Arika One
Arika Uno, a French artist, was born in the Paris suburbs in the early 1980s. After living in London to study music, he recently decided to return to his first loves, particularly Japanese culture and the cartoons of his childhood.
After a tumultuous journey in the music field and a series of disappointments, he returned to his passion for drawing and illustration, enriched by his experience and graphic cultural background. His pseudonym is simply the anagram of the famous manga created in 1982 by Katsuhiro Otomo: Akira.
Through his art, Arika Uno addresses contemporary themes and, in the manner of Otomo's work, critiques capitalism while paying tribute to the heroes of his childhood and their rich creative worlds.
