Arika Uno, a French artist, was born in the suburbs of Paris in the early 1980s. After living in London to study music, he recently decided to return to his first loves, notably Japanese culture and his cartoons. childhood.
After a tumultuous career in the musical field and a series of disappointments, he returned to his passion for drawing and illustration, enriched by his experience and his graphic cultural background. His pseudonym is simply the anagram of the famous manga created in 1982 by Katsuhiro Otomo: Akira.
Through his art, Arika Uno addresses contemporary themes and, like Otomo's work, he critiques capitalism while paying homage to the heroes of his childhood and their teeming creative worlds.
