About Pop Art and Street Art

Born in the 20th century, street art and pop art are trends that break the codes of traditional art. By using new techniques, by playing on bright color contrasts, pop art is a real time marker of the 60s and it aims to be resolutely popular, hence the term 'pop' art.
Popularized by very famous artists such as Andy Warhol or Roy Lichenstein , pop art does not hesitate to start from personalities or everyday objects in order to make true masterpieces by drawing inspiration from society consumption and disposable culture.
Screen printing, collage, acrylic paint, resin, use of panel as a support, all the codes are turned upside down.
Street art also emerged in the 1960s , in the USA, but its first representations were in the form of tags or graffiti on walls, trucks, subways, etc.
First considered a crime, it is established in cities in order to disseminate the artist's vision and is therefore available to as many people as possible. Despite the bans, real artists stand out in the great capitals of the world: Keith Haring, Basquiat or more recently Banksy.
