Lasveguix: French artist specializing in urban collage

Lasveguix, whose real name is Guillaume Picart, is a French artist from Seine-Saint-Denis who began practicing graffiti under the pseudonym Guix as a teenager along the Canal de l'Ourcq. After a break from artistic creation, he resumed in 2022, producing numerous paintings and canvases on various supports, with a strong pop influence.

Inspired by artists Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains, Lasveguix creates his works using photographs of famous faces and torn posters, which he then covers with graffiti and paint splashes. This joyful combination brings to life powerful and colorful works that evoke urban walls. Relief is a key feature of his work, as he likes to give volume to his paintings by using torn paper. Depending on the angle from which his works are viewed, there is an impression of movement created by the different layers and thicknesses of paper he uses.
