Wawapod - Warren Podguszer
Born in Paris in 1991, Wawapod – whose real name is Warren Podguszer – is a French visual artist whose hybrid work oscillates between Pop Art and Street Art. Coming from a creative family background, with a painter father and a stylist mother, he grew up in an environment conducive to artistic experimentation, without immediately dedicating himself to it. After several years working as a pharmacy technician, he decided in 2020 to fully turn towards his passion for visual art.
Self-taught, Wawapod first learned digital design before transferring his graphic universe onto canvas and public spaces. His style is immediately recognizable: a play of dots, lines, and curves that, seen up close, seem abstract but reveal portraits, figures, or reinterpretations of iconic works from a distance. He frequently works with mirror paints, creating light and reflection effects that give his works a lively and moving dimension.
The artist draws his inspiration from the history of classical art, which he revisits with humor and modernity, but also from popular culture, cinema, music, and the street. His influences range from Keith Haring to Warhol, from Banksy to Magritte, including Leonardo da Vinci and Matisse. He enjoys subverting codes and juxtaposing eras, offering an uninhibited dialogue between artistic heritage and contemporary culture.
Since 2018, Wawapod has regularly exhibited in galleries, fairs, and artistic events. His works have notably been shown at Porte de Versailles, Carreau du Temple, and the Paris contemporary art fair. At the same time, he invests urban spaces with collages and stencils, often signed with his colorful and poetic mantra: "Bonjour Amour Toujours", which has become a true signature of his presence.
Wawapod advocates an accessible and joyful approach to art. For him, each work is an invitation to rediscovery, daydreaming, and visual awakening. He imagines art as an open-air museum, alive, free, and deeply human.
