Dr. Hide
Docteur Hide, Dr. Hide, or perhaps Doriane Hide is a street artist and poet working between Paris and London, at the crossroads of poetry and urban art.
Her work involves blending different media to bridge the cultural gap between old film photographs and spray paint. This creates a new narrative from an already existing image, transforming it into a fully embodied artwork. The image disappears beneath the spray paint: does its survival depend on the word, from the letter to the deepest meaning? Since 2021, she has been developing a pictorial work using images drawn from pop culture and comic books.
Already well known under various pseudonyms in the European urban art scene for over five years and having participated in several group exhibitions in London, Docteur Hide now represents a new perspective, a new project, a new form of expression for this promising and spontaneous artist. Her influences gradually emerge within her work, creating another dimension of understanding in her existing artistic practice.
