Harissart is an artist duo composed of Yoan Tanuji and Abdel Benkhedidja (1982), who met during their university studies.
Abdel, a graduate of a major business school, decides to pursue a career in investment banking. After spending six years behind screens on the trading floor in New York, London and then Paris, he wanted to give meaning to his work and launched his start-up in the field of sustainable development. A few years later, he sold his company to devote himself fully to his all-consuming passion for art. Harissart was born from the passion of these two long-time friends. Their creations are largely inspired by their memories of adolescence and more generally the 90s.
Yoan, a magician by profession, has always been a collector of objects from the world of pop art and works of renowned artists. His job allows him to meet people from all walks of life and experience special moments in exceptional places where magic seems real! Creating illusions and managing his business naturally led him to mix work and pleasure on a daily basis. His desire to create original works and share them came to fruition with Harissart .
The themes of currency, money and luxury also occupy a central place in Harissart 's universe. Their works denounce their power, often parody them and sometimes even ridicule them. Inspired by popular iconography, they divert, modernize and personalize objects from the past to arouse an emotion, a feeling, revive a good memory or create a new one... "Because what we do may not be art, but we try..."
