Krzysztof Lozowski
Krzysztof Łozowski was born in 1970 in Sosnowiec and currently resides in Warsaw. After graduating from the Katowice School of Fine Arts, he studied film animation at the Bielsko-Biała Art School. He also holds a degree in art from the Teachers' College in Katowice. His training in painting and drawing began in 1993 at the Faculty of Arts of the Art Institute at the University of Silesia, where he graduated in 1998.
Krzysztof practices various artistic techniques such as oil painting, drawing, watercolor, and poster art. In addition, he is known for his excellent caricatures of personalities from the worlds of theater, music, politics, and cabaret. He has presented numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are also found in private collections, notably in Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, Austria, France, Greece, the United States, and Japan. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers.
Art critics describe Łozowski’s work as expressive. He uses a variety of rich techniques to explore different perspectives of the world around him, ranging from existentialism and darkness to humorous caricature. He himself states, “My art is me, it is my silence in solitude (...) allowing me to exist, to hear the inaudible, to see the invisible... It is an eternal attempt to answer the question – who am I? An infinite series of images with multiple titles that gently and sometimes boldly touch our consciousness, our inner truth. But the closer you get to yourself, the harder it is... The image becomes joy, where time does not exist, where reality blends with dreams.”
A distinctive and significant element of Krzysztof Łozowski’s paintings is his series titled "Fairy Tales for Adults." These works are based on sketches, drawings, watercolors, and graphics created in recent years, as well as on themes related to childhood. They combine wit and pleasure with a touch of sadness and nostalgia, inviting adult viewers to dive into the world of fairy tales... to exchange, reflect, and sometimes even provoke surprising comments... coming from the human unconscious, while carrying promises.
