Enric Alberti (La Nord) spent the first five years of his life in Llagostera, then moved to Girona, where he still lives today. In 2020, after the first COVID lockdown, he took his first steps into the world of painting.
Since he was very young, he was linked to art. His father was a painter. His art was mainly landscapes, then became hyperrealistic. Although close to this universe, he never showed enough interest to devote himself to it. However, he was always surrounded by the smell of paint. It was only two years earlier, purely for fun and entertainment, that he picked up the brushes again. Always self-taught, he started with a set of colors and then bought others; he experimented with textures, looking for compositions that satisfied him. Finally, what was initially a game or a hobby took an important place in his daily life.
The excitement and desire to paint push him to pick up his brushes every day and disconnect from everyday problems. When he paints, he creates a space outside of time where there is only him and his painting. It is the here and now through the language of painting. Music plays an important role in his works. Every time he paints, he does it to music, of all styles. The music he listens to influences his painting. Many of his works are named after songs that inspired him and that he was listening to at the time of their creation.
Each painting is based on his current mood, experiences, feelings and emotions. He tries to capture what he feels, sees or hears in an irrational way and translate it onto the white canvas. Often, he has an idea in mind that he wants to represent, but it always ends up being completely different from the initial concept. That is why he identifies with "serendipity". Art leads him to search for new unexpected paths that turn out to be better than expected.
He strives to give the viewer the freedom to find his own meaning in each painting.
