Nino Raso and Pantelleria (the Earth) are inseparably linked: the artist is intimately connected to his native land, and this link is reflected in the deep message conveyed by his works. Indeed, they advocate respect for the environment and strong social ethics.
Nino Raso 's work is based on the reconstruction of luxury icons using materials that carry within them stories of poverty and suffering, such as wood from shipwrecked migrant boats in the Mediterranean. This approach aims to highlight the ephemerality of luxury as well as the social differences that underlie its classification. Through this approach, Nino Raso invites the viewer to reflect on the meaning of luxury, creating in his works a tension between fascination and rejection which combines aesthetics and violence.
