Nino Raso
Nino Raso and Pantelleria (the Land) are inseparably linked: the artist is deeply connected to his homeland, and this bond is reflected in the profound message conveyed by his works. Indeed, they advocate for environmental respect and a strong social ethic.
The work of Nino Raso is based on reconstructing luxury icons using materials that carry stories of poverty and suffering, such as wood from migrant boats shipwrecked in the Mediterranean. This approach aims to highlight the fleeting nature of luxury as well as the social differences underlying its classification. Through this method, Nino Raso invites the viewer to reflect on the meaning of luxury, creating in his works a tension between fascination and rejection that combines aesthetics and violence.
