Rémy Matto
Born in 1960 in Albertville, Savoie, Rémy Matto grew up in a magical environment alongside his father, the renowned painter Rémy Martinetto. Although he was not very interested in studies, he quickly developed a talent for painting and dedicated himself to this art from a young age. From 1980, he exhibited in his studio and eventually took over the Martinetto art gallery, located in the medieval town of Conflans, overlooking Albertville.
As a self-taught artist, Rémy Matto explored different artistic styles and mastered the use of various tools such as spray paint, airbrush, computer drawing, and acrylic knife painting. He is especially known for his abstract and Fantasy Art works, which have earned him numerous awards and distinctions. Winner of several group exhibitions, he was nominated for the silver medal at the ArtMajeur Awards in 2012. His paintings are now sold worldwide.
Over the years, Rémy Matto has worked on many artistic projects, including covers for fanzines or science fiction novels, CD jackets, posters, character creation for screen printing, wall decorations, billboards, animated video clips, as well as the graphic illustration of the video for the opera-ballet "Et in terra pax" for the Théâtre de la Ville Olympique in Albertville in 1992.
