Sur un mur qui semble avoir été affiché, arraché, recouvert puis arraché encore, Lasveguix fait surgir une Marianne de papier. L'œuvre appartient à cette esthétique de l'affiche lacérée, héritée des affichistes, où chaque déchirure révèle une strate plus ancienne : lettres capitales fragmentées, aplats de bleu, de rouge corail et d'un jaune éclatant, pelures rose pâle qui affleurent comme de la peau à vif.
Au centre, un portrait féminin au trait noir, cerné d'un médaillon ovale et d'une auréole rayonnante, cite frontalement le vocabulaire graphique de Shepard Fairey : sérigraphie contrastée, roses ornementales, rosace-lotus, pinceau brandi comme un attribut. C'est là le tribute annoncé par le titre. Mais le visage, calme et à peine mélancolique, regarde au-delà du spectateur, échappant à l'iconographie militante qui l'entoure.
Autour de lui, la devise républicaine se recompose par fragments — LIBERTÉ, ÉGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ — mais toujours entamée, trouée, partiellement effacée par le temps et les couches successives. Le bleu à gauche, le rouge à droite, le blanc au milieu rejouent discrètement le drapeau, tandis qu'un vestige d'affiche de cinéma en bas à gauche (« International Prize Winning Motion Picture ») ancre l'ensemble dans une mémoire populaire et urbaine.
L'œuvre tient sa force de cette tension : l'allégorie nationale et l'icône du street art se superposent sur un support en ruine, comme si les grands mots ne survivaient que par lambeaux — encore lisibles, jamais intacts. Marianne y apparaît moins comme un emblème triomphant que comme une figure de résistance à l'usure, sans cesse recollée.
