Fuck Forever

Fuck Forever is a unique work born from the dialogue between two street gestures. Lasveguix first creates a wall: layers of torn posters, ripped paper, fragments of comic strips and advertising placards, in a palette of coral pink, ochre yellow and electric blue. At the center, a smiling pin-up drawn from 1950s advertising imagery fixes her gaze on the viewer, framed on the left by the slogan Fuck Forever — letters cut out and pasted back one by one, a direct tribute to the cut-up aesthetic of punk album covers, and to the Sex Pistols inscribed at the top of the canvas. On the right, the poster for the fight of the century resurfaces: George Foreman vs Muhammad Ali, Rumble in the Jungle, Sept. 24 — Kinshasa, Zaïre, intermingled with echoes of the Factory and the Velvet Underground. At the bottom, a blacked-out Power, a cartoon mouse, comic panels: the saturated memory of a century of popular imagery, compressed into a single surface. Tears, transparencies and worn patches give the canvas the patina of a wall that has been plastered and scraped a hundred times.

On this stage, Jérôme Mesnager intervenes in white. In a few broad brushstrokes, his White Man emerges — a leaping body, arms raised, legs outstretched, as if bursting from the wall to escape it. Born in 1983 on the streets of Paris, this luminous, anonymous silhouette has become one of the icons of French urban art. Here, it does not conceal the background: it crosses through it, opens it up, and creates a space in which to breathe. The contrast says it all: the nakedness of the white gesture against the clamor of the slogans, the softness of the body against the violence of the word.

Beauty, insolence and raw energy: a work that brings pin-up, punk, boxing and pop culture into collision, setting two generations of the urban art scene in dialogue around the same medium — the wall.
