Eiffel Gold - Lego

This time, it is all there, in its entirety. Whereas Eiffel Blue was content to light it up, Eiffel Gold shows the tower head-on, viewed from below, from the tip of the antenna to the pillars cut off by the frame. A silhouette everyone knows, captured at the hour when Paris turns to gold.

The concept rests on a contrast: the sky is smooth, the tower is built. On one side, an amber-and-gold surface crossed by clouds, without a single brick. On the other, a three-dimensional monument that stands out against the light, in a palette of browns, blacks, and anthracite grays. The light touches only the edges: oranges and beiges rise along the pillars and highlight the frieze of the first floor, while the underside of the platform plunges into dense black. Beneath the great arch, the sky reappears, and at the very bottom, between the feet, two small golden glimmers are enough to suggest the city.

Up close, the iron framework becomes a mosaic. Plates, round pieces, slopes, and technical elements interlock across several levels to evoke the tower’s lattice without ever copying it. You have to come closer to see the stars and golden pieces slipped into the pillars, the touches of lavender and anise green placed along the edges like reflections, and a propeller lost in the darkness of the base. And, at the bottom right, a printed tile reading « The Eiffel Tower », as discreet as a museum label.

Gustave Eiffel’s tower was born from 18,038 iron pieces assembled one by one. Brick Board Builder reconstructs it in the same way, except that he works without a plan: each LEGO® brick is selected by hand from a stock sourced through reuse, arriving in bulk from all over France, notably through the charitable organization Rejoué, and then cleaned and sorted piece by piece. That is what makes Eiffel Gold impossible to reproduce identically.
