Superheroes in Art
Superheroes have always been a source of inspiration for artists, whether in comics, films, television series, or even contemporary art. Superheroes have an appeal that transcends popular culture boundaries, and their impact on art is undeniable.
In contemporary art, many artists have used superheroes as symbols of the fight against injustice, oppression, and violence. For example, American artist Roy Lichtenstein created artworks based on superhero comic images, enlarging and reproducing them in the style of screen printing.
Similarly, artist Banksy created a series of murals depicting superheroes in distress, such as Batman trying to escape a police net or Superman being hit by a bus. These images have been interpreted as a critique of how society treats its heroes, as well as a reflection on humanity's vulnerability to violence.
