El Corazoncito est une variation intime et géométrique sur le thème de l’amour, l’un des fils rouges de l’œuvre de Guido Zappoli. Ici, l’artiste remplace son motif du banc de poissons par un symbole universel, le cœur, et en tire un jeu de mise en abyme. Sur un fond de cuir noir lisse et profond, près de deux cent cinquante petits cœurs rouges s’alignent en rangs décalés pour composer un seul grand cœur. Chacun garde sa forme propre, et tous ensemble forment un battement commun.
Chaque petit cœur est découpé à l’emporte-pièce dans un cuir rouge verni, puis posé à la main au ruban adhésif double face. La finition brillante joue un rôle central : selon l’angle de vue et la lumière, les cœurs s’allument de reflets nacrés, roses ou presque blancs, puis redeviennent rouge profond. La surface paraît bouger, comme si la forme vibrait doucement. En face, le noir mat du fond absorbe la lumière et fait ressortir le grand cœur avec beaucoup d’élégance.
Le format carré et compact de 40 × 40 cm en fait une pièce à la fois forte et intime, facile à accrocher dans une chambre, un salon ou un bureau. C’est aussi une idée de cadeau qui a du sens pour célébrer un amour ou une amitié.
Le titre joue avec la langue espagnole, en hommage à Adriano, ami de l’artiste qui a vécu trente ans au Mexique. Corazoncito, « petit cœur », est un terme affectueux très courant au Mexique. Il renvoie à la fois à la taille de l’œuvre et aux centaines de petits cœurs qui la composent.
